“Lake Superior from up in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan. This area holds a special meaning for me; growing up, my family spent many vacations driving up from Detroit to go camping all throughout Northern Michigan and the UP. Camping was a way for a young family with not a lot of money to make rich memories and form a lasting bond. My older brother once bet me that I wouldn’t swim in Lake Superior during the early spring when there was still ice on the lake. I won!” – A.L.
