“This is representative of what most people think of when they think of Colorado. I took this back in 2009 on a ride from Mt. Princeton hot springs, though the historic mining towns of St. Elmo and Hancock and up the Alpine Tunnel trail. That’s Tunnel Lake, which sits at about 12,000 feet just beyond where the Alpine Tunnel trail meets up with the Continental Divide trail. It was a perfect day for a ride and I had stopped on this sunny rock for a snack after climbing for over two hours. It was one of those ‘oh right, this is why I mountain bike’ moments.” – Jon Stall*
